Back but to soon

Were back from our little trip it was wonderful to have the time off and to see the grandparents. However i so wish we could have stayed just one more day. We were there 2 full days and drove home Monday morning. Man i was exhausted when i got home and felt i needed a day to just rest the car ride is wearing. We swam at a nice natural hot spring there several times which was very nice. Hector and i made a trip out to area 51 to see the different things they have he was excited because he loves scary stuff and any paranormal thing me not at all. we got some pictures i will get posted up soon to show. We can't wait for our next trip hector really wants to hike some trail down at Zions and also stop by Moab, I hope it will be soon.

a much needed getaway

We are planning to go to Alamo, NV where my dad's family lives this weekend and man am I excited. I love to travel and I didn't do anything for spring break this year and I need a getaway from the cold and work. I  just so happens I've been wanting to go visit my grandparents and just when I was trying to plan when my aunt send me a message that my cousin who lives in Alamo as well will be having his homecoming from his mission this week so that did it for me were going. I'm very excited to go to have just even a weekend trip but we get to see family and enjoy the time with them. I can't wait to go. It's a real random place to go for some but it's always been a part of my life and it's just so calm and nice little town that it really is relaxing. Hector loves to go down there it reminds him of home and he sure has been home sick this last while. Are plan is to go to Mexico this Christmas or February he can't make up his mind when to go which time would be better because of the festivities that go on during that time of year.

Mmm Chicken Chilli

OK so It's hard to admit but I'm not a very good cook. I know, I know shocking but Hector does most of the cooking minus any bake goods I'm good there. However the other day I was laying in bed thinking what to have for breakfast but all I could think was chili so I made it. I had to improvise with what  I had but it turned out great and I am so proud I wanted to share the recipe.
1 can red Kidney beans drained
1 can Garbanzo or black drained
1 can diced tomatoes with green chili's
1 clove garlic
1 TBS taco seasoning
4 basil leaves
1 small can tomato paste mixed w/water or tomato sauce
1 cube chicken boules
couple shakes of red pepper flakes
I put it all in the crock pot for 2 hours on low while I went to class then I fried up some chicken and just did a little salt and pepper to season it. cooked it mostly through then sliced it into small pieces and stirred it into the chili and had it cook for another hour on low and there you go nice chicken chili.
